Technology Update

We wanted to take a moment to introduce you to some of the medical technology that will be present on our ambulances. Over the past couple of months, the ESD Board has approved the purchase of the following items after a competitive evaluation and purchase process.

ESD Hires Don Rose as Director of Clinical Services

Don Rose will be joining Bastrop County ESD #3 as our Director of Clinical Services. In his role, Don will oversee our clinical practice in partnership with Dr. Abadi. This includes credentialing and authorization of personnel, protocol management and clinical performance improvement. In addition, he will oversee our team of Field Supervisors and field personnel and share operational oversight…

District Takes Delivery of First Ambulance, a.k.a. Shop “Twelve”

February 4th marks an important day in District history. Our team took delivery of our first ambulance. Over the next week, this unit will be outfitted with supplies and equipment in preparation for our DSHS licensing inspection.

It's getting tangible!

Up until now, the planning has been on paper. In the past couple of weeks, we have started receiving delivery of key equipment and supplies. The first pallets of disposable supplies have arrived and will be used to stock our first ambulance to facilitate obtaining our provider license soon. The shelving and bins for the stockroom should arrive before Christmas.

End of November Update

Three of us attended the Texas EMS Conference last week. It was a great opportunity to meet with many key vendors as we continue to build toward the new Bastrop County EMS.

It's official! Elgin joining ESD #3

We are happy to announce that the City of Elgin and its ETJ within Bastrop County is joining the rest of the county as part of Bastrop County ESD #3.

ESD Funds Additional Unit Hours – Eighth Unit on Duty at Peak Hours/Days

Bastrop County ESD #3 Commissioners approved a staff recommendation to increase the ambulance deployment on the busiest days of the week. Starting in June, the District provided funding to increase from four 24-hour ambulances to five 24-hour ambulances plus two 12-hour ambulances seven days a week. The deployment also includes a 24-hour clinical supervisor. These changes were designed to…
