End of November Update

Three of us attended the Texas EMS Conference last week.   It was a great opportunity to meet with many key vendors as we continue to build toward the new Bastrop County EMS.

The biggest news coming from the meetings was a firm timeline for the delivery of our new ambulances.   We have a total of fifteen Frazer 14”, door forward modules to be mounted on F450 gasoline chassis (and yes, the units in our Facebook post are our units and they are F450’s).   We expect to take the delivery beginning in early August through mid-September.

This timeline supports an October 1, 2026 go live.   We are NOT committing to that yet, but confidence in that timeline is growing.

What’s coming…

December and January are focused on several key deliverables

  • Capital planning is heating up.   We will be working to secure financing for the remaining capital plan.  We hope to be placing an order for monitors, vents, pumps, etc in the next 45-60 day.
  • Site engineering plans are being submitted for our first regional station that will be the home base for a 24-hour ambulance, one peak ambulance and a supervisor.   Architectural will start in the next two weeks.
  • We are actively looking additional station sites – this be a combination of leased and owned properties.
  • On the hiring front, we expect to post additional leadership positions just before the Christmas holidays.   The holidays are a time of personal reflection for many people and may be a good time to consider new opportunities.
  • We have secured a used Frazer ambulance to facilitate obtaining our provider license.  We will submit our license packet by the end of December and hope to wrap up the process in January.
  • We are in the final stages of graphic design for our new ambulances.  You can expect a classic look.
  • Along with all this, there is a tremendous number of administrative tasks in flight.

Look for more updates later this week…
