Keith Simpson was appointed to the Bastrop County ESD 3 board in January 2025.  His term runs through December 2025. Most of his professional career Keith has been dedicated to the EMS industry.  Keith is retired but spent 25 years with the City of Austin in Public Safety, 20 of those years with Austin - Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS). Keith served as a Communications Commander, Manager of Data, Quality, and Compliance and Chief Strategist for ATCEMS.  Keith has led major initiatives within ATCEMS including the purchase of a Computer Aided Dispatch System,  Electronic Patient Care Record System, and also managed federal Medicare programs, and local Community Health Care initiatives.

 Keith has been involved for 20 years with the Texas Foundation of the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award. Keith worked primarily in the Healthcare Sector of Quality Texas and served as Chair of the Panel of Judges and is a Lifetime Fellow.

Keith believes the primary goal of the ESD is to design and deliver an Emergency Medical Service to Bastrop County that provides cost-effective, outstanding clinical care to all citizens throughout all areas of Bastrop County.

Keith, his wife Helen, reside in Precinct 4 in an unincorporated area of Bastrop County.
